EMMA CAHOON

Director - Writer - Theatremaker

Emma Cahoon (she/her) is a theatre-maker dedicated to the art of asking questions. A graduate of Boston University with a BFA in Theatre Arts and minor in Arts Leadership, she is currently based in New England. Emma has worked with organizations across the country including theatre KAPOW, Central Square Theater, What Would the Neighbors Say?, the Seven Devils New Play Foundry, and more. Emma’s directing practice centers elevating and exploring dramatic texts to their fullest depths; her work starts by diving into what’s written on the page, and then she leads actors and designers through an investigation of all that lies in white space. Emma values curating collaborative rehearsal spaces built on equal parts creativity, joy, and rigor.

Recent, Current, Upcoming:

Emma recently started two new roles! She’s thrilled to now serve as Greater Boston Stage Company’s Marketing Associate and Beat by Beat Press’ Publications and Marketing Assistant. She’s honored to be a part of both teams, helping to spread the word about their fantastic work while continuing to keep the ball rolling on her own creative endeavors, too.
